Rounak Adhikari, an alumnus of Lovely Professional University, who was once rejected by Ashneer Grover publicly, has now revealed that his startup got selected in Y Combinator.
The LPU Alumnus, who worked as an academic Volunteer at IIT Bombay, flaunted a video about it on his Instagram reel, stating that “Remember to never sit down, no matter who tells you to!” and tagged Ashneer Grover.
In 2022, Ashneer Grover was invited to deliver a talk at IIT Bombay, where Rounak requested Ashneer to pitch his idea. The conversation happened as follows.
Rounak (shouting from the crowd with a mic): Hello, Sir.
Ashneer (Telling to someone else): Let him speak (Rounak Adhikary). He will speak louder.
Ashneer: Yeah, yeah, speak.
Rounak: I want to pitch.
Ashneer: What?
Rounak: I want to pitch.
Ashneer: You saying I want to pitch? Brother, you please sit down.
The crowd burst into laughter seeing Ashneer’s response.
As per Rounak’s LinkedIn profile, his startup ProjectX got accepted in Y Combinator in August 2022. For those of you who don’t know, Y Combinator is a prestigious startup accelerator that not only provides funding but mentorship, networking, and a business launch pad to help startups grow into large-scale companies.

Ashneer Grover was last seen on Rise and Fall on Amazon and MX Player. He acted as a dramatic TV host rather than just a businessman.
After his high-profile exit from Bharat Pe, he started few other businesses by the name of The Third unicorn and CricPe. In the meantime, he was also working as an influencer and was speaking at various talk shows and institutes.
These days, he can be seen making entertainment videos on his Instagram. Grover became famous for his strict persona and harsh criticism on Shark Tank season 1; however, he didn’t appear in the following seasons.
