For the last couple of days, a video has been going viral in which a reporter drenched in rain is getting booed by young protesters. A close look at the video reveals that the reporter is from Zee News Media and his name is Kapil Raut.

The protest site is somewhere in Mumbai, and the youngsters are protesting for the Cockroach Janta Party, demanding the resignation of the education minister.

In the video, it appears that the protesters are using unparliamentary words for the reporter.

I strongly wish mature students / gen z really call out these kind of behaviours. We should call out a right as right and a wrong as wrong. It brings integrity and value to us.

Netizens Divided On Booing

From the video, one can see that the reporter remained calm and quiet, drenched in the rain, despite getting booed by surrounding protestors.

Kapil Raut showed great courage and patience. He stood in heavy rain and faced hooting. I admire him a lot. Salute to his patience.

I have not done much field reporting. I did not like it from the start. But I got a chance to work with and coordinate with field reporters. They risk their lives for the job.

I have known Kapil for 25-26 years. I met his father, Raut Kaka, in Mumbai in 1999. That is when I learned about Kapil. For the last 20 years, Kapil has been reporting from Thane. Now he works in Mumbai. When I was at Zee, Kapil lost his job. Even then, he stayed calm and patient.
