As per recent observations, we have found that the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has started following PM Modi. Whether this is because of the social meltdown that happened a few days where we observed that Giorgia Meloni may have unfollowed PM Modi is not clear!

We took a look at Giorgia Meloni’s Instagram account today, on 28th May, and found that she has started following Narendra Modi, along with several high-profile leaders whom she wasn’t following earlier.

As mentioned in the previous post, it is normal for countries to have cordial relationships without their leaders following each other on Instagram or any other social media.

When the meltdown started that Meloni had unfollowed Modi, we observed the netizens’ reaction, and many of them indicated that the Italian Prime Minister had never followed the Indian Prime Minister in the first place.

At present, relations between India and Italy are considered quite strong and improving rapidly, especially in trade, defence, technology, and strategic cooperation. In fact, in May 2026, both countries elevated ties to a “Special Strategic Partnership.”
