News anchor Aman Chopra who has been vocal about the student’s protest in Jharkhand shared a video giving his pespective of the incident where it appears that the Jharkhand police came to detain him while he was having a breakfast.

Aman Chopra Shares Videos of Police Detention

Chopra was seen being questioned by the Jharkhand police authorities inside a police station. The police authorities requested Chopra to not make a footage.

The incident comes as student protests in Jharkhand continue to attract political and media attention.

Aman Chopra Claims FIR Filed Against Him

The news anchor who is known for his prime time show on News18, shared short videos where he could be seen questioning the police for detaining him and and FIR has now been issued against him.

While the reason has not been disclosed, many netizens are speculating that the news anchor is facing police trauma as he criticized the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government in coalition with the Congress government for the ongoing student’s protests.

The anchor says that while many news media and politicians from Congress went to the hospital to meet the students, he was targeted by the government and now an FIR has been filed against him by the Jharkhand Police.

Sharing his reaction on X, Chopra wrote that journalists were facing FIRs while questioning the political narrative around press freedom.

The anchor subtly praise the BJP government for not restricting journalists for not covering the CJP protests and condemns the JMM-Congress coalition for restraining the journalists.

Aman also claimed that the police has now restricted him to cover the protests.

Not the first time that an FIR is registered against Aman Chopra

Back in 2022, multiple FIRs were registered against the news anchor for his discussions regarding the demolition of temples in Rajgarh, Alwar. According to the police back then, the program created communal disharmony and that the discussions contained misleading claims.
