Sabeer Bhatia has launched another bold claim on a podcast. According to the entrepreneur, the AI model will wipe out companies like TCS and Infosys, which primarily do software engineering. Bhatia claims that Anthropic’s Claude is doing better code than most software engineers and that most software companies will not survive in the coming years.
“Now that AI has arrived, these companies will be finished in the next 5 years. They will not exist. Infosys, TCS, and all these tech companies will all get finished. Today, what used to take anybody five years to make with 500 people, thousand people, I can write in two hours, one person, using Claude Code. And it’s getting better. These two hours will go down to one hour, or 30 minutes. What Software you will do? All software development is a prompt. Claude is writing itself. The next version of Claude is being written by itself. The most powerful piece of software in the world is being written by itself. Now you imagine what the repercussions will be.”
Bhatia also blamed the Indian tech industry for taking pride in creating apps like UPI, Aadhar Card. As per the entrepreneur, these creations could have been done with a few million dollars only.
The Hotmail co-founder is no stranger to controversy over India-related issues. He often gets labelled as anti-national, a CIA agent, and similar tags due to his recurring criticism of Indian issues.
