The footage was shared by the Department of Information & Publicity (DNH&DD) through their Instagram handle.
The Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu conducted a road safety campaign on Wednesday (September 9) evening.
The District Collector of Daman, Saurabh Mishra, strongly addressed the gathering that cars like Thar and Fortuners are not vehicles for “bhaigiri” or “ruffiangiri” (don or ruffianly behaviour).
In the footage, Collector Saurabh Mishra could be seen reciting the following pledge, which is recited by the drivers of Thars and Fortuners.
“I take a pledge that I will not drive my vehicle irresponsibly and will not drive the vehicle beyond the speed limit. I will also not do stunts, racing, drifting, or other dangerous activities on the road, and I will not allow others to do them either. I will also not drive after drinking alcohol. I will also follow the traffic rules.” The Collector could be seen reciting the pledge for the hundreds of drivers who recited after him.
