NDTV recently had a TV discussion related to the the CJP Protest and the NEET Paper leak issue, and Harsh Dubey, a NEET aspirant, was invited to participate. The debate turned heated with Shiv Aroor on the matter of reservations, and Harsh Dubey stood up to passionately defend his viewpoint, responding forcefully.
Who is Harsh Dubey (The NEET Aspirant)?
Harsh Dubey appears to be a long-time NEET aspirant who says he has attempted the examination multiple times and remained close to the selection cut-off. He was recently invited to a discussion with NDTV’s anchor Shiv Aroor, where he became aggressive and stood up while making his point.
As per him, he has actively participated in student protests in 2024 and advocates reforms including conducting NEET twice annually. He is of the opinion that there should be other entrance exams that are based on the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology syllabus,
During the interview, he also opined that he has met several prominent personalities from politics like Akhilesh Yadav over the years but none of them have been willing to raise issues on important matters like reforms in education, especially for entrance exams.
Harsh is of the view that the CJP protest has completely deviated from its purpose and that the resignation of the education minister will not yield any positive change.
Reservation and State-Wise Cut-Off Differences
The point on which Harsh passionately stated his strong opinion was that nobody in power gives attention to problems when they are voiced peacefully by the people.
He also argued that the reservation policies and varying state-wise admission cut-offs are significantly damaging the prospects of aspirants. He argues that students securing identical marks receive different admission outcomes depending on their state and category, calling for equal treatment in medical admissions.
