Over the past few days, news has gone viral that Sourav Joshi has apologized for his Ethanol criticism, which he made in his vlog. However, a second look at the matter indicates that it might not be true!

Did Sourav Joshi really Apologize For E20 Petrol Criticism?

Ever since we informed the users that Sourav Joshi had removed the criticism footage segment from his vlogs, fans were curious to know his stance on the matter.

The apologetic message came from a Twitter account named Souravjoshi_arts. However, a surprising thing to notice was that below the account name, it was mentioned that it is a parody account.

For those of you who don’t know, a parody account is an account that imitates a real person or organization but is run by someone else, usually a fan.

Upon inspecting the Sourav Joshi parody account, we found that it is based in Canada and, more importantly, was verified in July 2026. It is hard to believe that a celebrity like Sourav Joshi would wait till July 2026 to verify his account if he actually runs it!

More importantly, the blue tick in front of the account name does not mean that the account has been ID verified with the real person. As per X, the blue check mark simply means that the account currently has a subscription to X Premium.

What Raised Suspicion about Sourav Joshi’s X Parody account?

On July 13th, the account released a message impersonating stating that he had visited the Mercedes service center and found that there was no issue with the engine and that he apologized for the misunderstanding regarding E20 petrol.

After the above message was released, many publishers (including us) picked up the story and stated that the YouTuber has apologized for his E20 criticism.

But on the 15th of July, the account released a message slamming the Indian publishers, stating that India ranks 157th out of 180 countries in the 2026 World Press Freedom Index.

It says further that “It was clearly marked as a parody account. Even the profile picture appears to be a Google image, and the account information identifies it as a parody.”

Why the Media Publishers got Confused?

There seems to be a bug in X (Twitter) where it does not show the line that it is a “parody account” if the post is embedded into the website through HTML. The message “Parody Account” can only be seen when the post is viewed on the X platform or on its app.

Even right now, if we embed the E20 apologetic post of X here on this website, it shows the message but does not display “Parody Account”. See below

Did Sourav Joshi Convert his real Twitter account into an X Parody Account?

Some netizens believe that the account souravjoshi_arts is indeed of Sourav Joshi and that he has converted to a parody account himself, as his E20 criticism and subsequent removal of that criticism footage became a sensation in the Indian media.

There seems to be no way to check whether the account was actually a real account before or not. We tried to check the authenticity of the account through the webpage archive, but unfortunately, it could not be verified.
