Youtuber Manish Kasyap has now been registered in an FIR by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for spreading claims that ethanol-blended petrol is causing problems in the engine.
In his latest video, Manish Kasyap addressed the matter and also took a dig at YouTuber Sourav Joshi. Kasyap opined that he is not like Sourav Joshi, who will criticise ethanol-blended petrol and then take a U-turn.
“I will not ask forgiveness for this, no matter what, because I am not Sourav Joshi who will first allege that the mileage reduced and later on say that the problem was not with ethanol mix petrol but with the engine. I am Manish Kasyap, and I will speak on matters which are important to people.” Kasyap said in his video.
For those of you who are not aware, Sourav Joshi made a clarification on his Twitter account that the problem in his car was due to an engine problem and not due to ethanol-blended petrol, which he had highlighted earlier, and then removed the criticism footage from the vlog.
After Sourav Joshi clarified, many netizens claimed that the Youtuber was pressured into backtracking the statements.
Not Afraid of Anything: Manish Kasyap
Apart from Manish Kasyap, three more social media influencers named Harshit Rathi, Anklesh Inwati and Desi Boys have also been booked in the FIR for spreading disinformation on Ethanol blended petrol.
In his video, Kasyap said that he is ready to face obstacles for his stance against ethanol-blended petrol and that he will not back down due to any pressure or fear.
“I am willing to go to jail, but am not Sourav Joshi who is going to make a U-turn from the earlier claims. I faced the problem that is being faced by many people in this country……………….. I had also made nearly 200 videos on you praising your highway work, but you got hurt in two videos where I criticised the Ethanol policy,” said Manish Kasyap further in the video.
The YouTuber also opined that if import duties need to be reduced, then the government can take other various steps, like reducing gold imports.
“Please remember that I am a Bihari. I would rather die than bow down. You can do whatever you want, but I am sticking to my words.”
Earlier, Kasyap was also registered in an FIR by the car manufacturer Toyota after his video went viral, where he alleged that his Toyota Hycross stopped functioning due to ethanol-blended petrol. Surprisingly, the announcement was made by Nitin Gadkari during an earlier interview.
