An Indian NRI in Ireland has made a video showing Aashirwad Aata being sold of expiry date. The man in the video is Pawan Kumar Pathak and shows that he received an expired Aashirwaad wheat from a local store shopG, Celbridge, Ireland. He opines that the manufacture has not only tried to hide the real expiry date but has printed a forwarded expiry date on the packaging.

The video titled “Scam Alret for Indians in Ireland !!” went viral on Instagram and Youtube and got the attention of the company who replied Pawan Kumar that the investigation is going on in the matter.

The NRI highlights that a country like Ireland has strong food safety laws and such incidents are rare to witness. In the video, one can see that the expiry date is hidden by a strong sticker and even then the date of expiry is not easily visible.

Many people from different countries in the comment section opined that they too are facing similar situation and have called out the company to look into the matter.

Company Responds

Pawan Kumar made an update video and opined that the company has responded to him and has acknowledged the matter.

“Hi Pawan! Thank you for reaching out with your concern. Please provide us with your email address and your area zipcode on DM so we can assist you further.” wrote the company to Pawan Kumar Pathak

Pawan opined that its not clear whether the company has reached out to him to sort the matter or is it just a “PR strategy in the comment section”. He also believes that such scam could not happen without the involvement of a big player.

Pawan also told in the updated video that he has also informed Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the local store from where he purchased the wheat but has yet to receive a response from them.
