A video involving veteran actor and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan has provoked a discussion on Reddit, with viewers raising doubts about her conduct in a conversation with a man who was holding a camera.

At the same time, there have been questions as to whether the audio in the clip corresponds to the original video or whether an older video has been edited and circulated once again.

Is the viral video edited or real?

The Reddit post, which was shared on October 9, depicts Bachchan being confronted by a journalist who was recording her. The same clip is getting viraled on X also.

In the video, it appears that the person recording the video is telling Jaya Bachchan.

“You are Amitabh Bachchan’s wife that’s why we are taking your photograph. Why are you starting us? Madam (referring to Shweta Bachchan) please take him. Show this stare to Amitabh Bacchan.”

But it is important to note that this may not be a real audio.

Many netizens have stated that the audio is a voice-over and that the video is old, while others have doubted the man’s behaviour and have questioned whether he was acting as a journalist or as a paparazzo.

These comments express the views of the viewers, but they do not on their own prove when the footage was taken or whether its audio has been altered. 

Why is this video getting so viral?

Jaya Bacchan has been trending recently on the Internet. A few days ago, video went viral where she scolded a man for taking selfie with her without her knowledge. Upon realizing that the man is trying to take selfie with her, Jaya Bacchan was shocked and pushed the man away.

Social media is strongly reacting to this video. Its not confirmed whether the audio in it is real or superimposed.

The people who believe the audio to be true are applauding the journalist (papparazzi) to reply Jaya Bacchan in such a manner.

At this stage, the particular Reddit clip should not be taken as evidence that a reporter reprimanded Bachchan, since the original recording and the audio have not been verified and the exchange of October 6 has been independently documented.
