The Pakistani YouTubers Sana Amjad and Sohaib Chaudhry, who were popular for their street interviews and videos on India-Pakistan relations, have raised concern among their followers in Pakistan and India recently after their disappearance from making YouTube videos for a long time.
In January 2025, the two creators disappeared all of a sudden and reappeared and reported on their experiences. Both said they were threatened and assailed for their online activities, some of which contained positive comments about India.
Their allegations were picked up by social media and within the Indian media. The claims are not substantiated independently, however.
Did the Pakistan Army Warn Them Over Their Videos?
Sana Amjad’s last video on her channel came nearly 7 months ago, which is unusual since she used to cover videos on a daily basis. Similarly, for Shoaib Chaudhary, his last video came nearly two months ago.
Both the YouTubers gave accounts of alleged abductions and mistreatment in their Jan 2025 videos. Without naming anyone, Shoaib Chaudhary indicated that some powerful men had abducted him from his house, and Sana Amjad claimed there was a threat against her family. They indicated that they felt they had been targeted by their content and criticism.
They have often produced videos of the public response to the development, politics, and social issues of India. In particular, Sana Amjad has released street interviews where people talk about India and compare it with the conditions over there. Through many India-praising videos, they have gained a lot of viewers and a fan following from India.
Did They Stop Making Videos After Censorship?
The stories of Sana Amjad and Shoaib Chaudhary, where they indicated that some powerful men from the government abducted and were harassing them, fail to prove that the Pakistan Army had abducted them.
At that time, reports also mentioned allegations of a political group, but the responsible people were not independently identified. Claims that the Army had killed or forcibly silenced the creators therefore cannot be treated as facts.
After the Pahalgam retaliation in May 2025, the Indian government decided to ban many Pakistani YouTube channels, which included those of Shoaib Chaudhary and Sana Amjad. It is a known fact that many Pakistani YouTubers’ major income comes through Indian audiences’ viewership.
However, Shoaib Chaudhary started a new channel, and it was getting traction also; however, it is nowhere near the views that the previous YouTube channels used to get. Also, there have been zero updates on the channel for the last two months.
Why Have They Stopped Posting, and Where Are They Now?
The earlier vanishing and the claims they made upon their return have made observers wonder if they are hesitant to make India-praise videos, which they used to do earlier.
According to the latest research, I can confirm that both of them have actually stopped uploading videos, or it was a strict order from the Pakistan Army to go offline.
It’s not that they have totally disappeared. Both Shoaib and Sana have appeared in a few podcast interviews in the last few months; however, their complete abstinence from uploading videos on their YouTube channel has definitely sparked concern.
