Actor Shekhar Suman recently revealed in an interview with Curly Tales why he left the BJP party within 24 hours and didn’t stay in politics after that. The actor hinted that he joined politics with the intent of doing good for the masses, but realized that politics is not a place for good people.

But Suman also opined that there is a lot of shortage of good people in politics and that politicians are actually great actors.

Shekhar Suman said that although people encouraged him to enter politics, he chose to do so because he believed good people needed to be present there. However, his experience left him disappointed.

“There were people who tried to push me into it, but I wanted to join politics only because good people need to be known there. But there is so much wrong there that it will not let your goodness stay alive. So that’s what I learned there. It’s not possible for a good man to survive there,” Suman said.

During the conversation, host Kamya Jani asked whether there is more acting in politics or in the entertainment industry.

Responding to the question, Suman said that both fields contain an equal amount of acting and politics.

“In both places. In both places, equally. The kind of acting that happens in politics, even great actors cannot act that way the way politicians do. And there is so much politics in acting that you cannot even imagine. The people whom you consider your friends are the very ones who come behind you and stab you in the back,” he said.

The Background
