There is a growing belief in this country that the role of the media is shifting from independent journalism to a PR agency. Most people’s opinion is that the media is divided between the left and right wings political parties.
But it’s very rare to see people from the media industry taking the onus for the eroded trust in the media, especially by a well-known personality who is currently working in a well-known media group.
In what could be termed as a surprise, a clip is getting viral on social media where Sayeed Ansari, a well-known Aaj Tak anchor, could be seen admitting to the youngsters that the media industry has eroded the trust of the public.
The video seems to be from IMS Ghaziabad from a few days ago, where the anchor was invited as a guest. Sayeed Ansari is a prominent journalist who has been associated with Aajtak since 2012.
In the clip, the anchor could be seen explaining that there is a strong downfall in trust in the media and that this is because of the wrongdoing of the media industry itself.
“We get a lot of hate and abuse. But we are responsible for it. You don’t have to become like us,” said Sayeed Ansari in the video.
He also urged the aspiring students not to follow the same path and instead emphasized trust and credibility in the long run.
The clip is getting viral at a time when Aajtak and its anchor Anjana Om Kashyap are in the spotlight for wrong reasons, apparently for filing a defamation case against Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir.
