Actor Anupam Kher had a hearty conversation recently with Samdish. The duo talked on many aspects of Anupam’s life, including his pro-BJP stance, his early life struggles, and his infatuation with Hollywood Legend Robert De Niro. Anupam revealed that he got around Rs 3 Lakhs in cash from director Kanti Shah nearly 22 years ago for shooting scenes that used to get completed in one day. When Samdish probed him about revealing his current income, Anupam revealed that he gets around Rs 2 – 2.5 crores for one movie. Opining on it, Anupam said, “I am doing well.”

Samdish then asked about how much tax the actor pays on such hefty remuneration. Anupam credited his “Honest CA” for managing his accounts book. The CA died just last year.

In the same interview, Anupam also revealed that he was nearly bankrupt around 2004 when he had only Rs 400 left in the bank. As per the actor, all that happened when he was in the quest of becoming a “TV Tycoon,” but things didn’t work out.
