Swami Ramdev, in an interview with Smita Prakash of ANI, has revealed that the apology that he tendered to the court back in 2024 was more like a forced apology rather than a genuine sentiment.
Back in 2024, the Supreme Court had rapped Swami Ramdev, Balkrishna Acharya, and Patanjali company for false and misleading advertisements for Patanjali products.
The Indian Medical Association had filed a case against Patanjali because of their claims that Ayurvedic medicines could provide cures or permanent solutions for diseases such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension, while also attacking allopathic medicine.
The Supreme Court had also found that Patanjali continued such advertising despite an undertaking given to the court.
After rejecting the initial apology, the Supreme Court called Ramdev personally in court. Ramdev apologized with folded hands and acknowledged that he had made a mistake.
He also assured the Court that he would be more careful because millions of people follow him.

In the recent interview, Ramdev again made tall claims that he has credible evidence of Ayurveda treating and reversing diseases like Cancer, Blood pressure, and diabetes, and other common problems that people are suffering today.
“ Ramdev: The English people made the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, which states that Ayurveda cannot use the word “cure” for problems like BP, Sugar and, etc. There is cure for these problems in Ayurveda.

Ramdev: And we also told the same thing in the Supreme Court, that please listen to us. The court said that first you need to make the modifications in the Drug and Remedies Act and then they will listen.
Smita Prakash: And you then had to apologize in the court?
Baba Ramdev: It was a forced apology. Is there no freedom in this country to speak the truth? I am speaking the truth only. I am not a shareholder in Patanjali, nor an MD or Chairman of that company. So then why was my name dragged into the case?
Smita Prakash: But your name gets associated with such things?
Ramdev: Just because my name gets associated to it, it does not mean that I am the guilty party. The country is governed by the Constitution. I said this in the Supreme Court as well, and I am saying it today too: the country does not run on perception, but as per the Constitution. ”
Ramdev didn’t stop there. He again emphasized that, as per their research and observation, type 1, type 2, type 3 diabetes, fatty liver, and liver cirrhosis can be reversed. He also claims that he has more than 5 crore pieces of evidence to support his claims.
Coronil saved Lives: Baba Ramdev
In the same interview, Ramdev also strongly claimed that the product Coronil saved the lives of millions of people and that there are more than 30 research papers on it.
Back in June 2020, when the second wave of Corona disrupted Indian lives, Patanjali came out with “Coronil”, which they claimed to provide a cure for Corona patients.
On June 24, 2020, the Ministry of AYUSH asked Patanjali to stop advertising Coronil as a COVID-19 treatment and sought details about the product and its claimed clinical study.
