Tehseen Poonawalla, who was about to start his protest march today on 1st August, has been house arrested by the Delhi Police. The information was shared by Poonawalla on his X account.

After the permission for “Gaadi March” was denied, Poonawalla announced “Ekla Chalo” to Gandhi Smriti, along with a maun vrat (vow of silence) and an indefinite hunger strike, beginning 1 August.

In the video, it appears that Delhi Police are informing Tehseen Poonawalla that there is no permission given to him for protest.

Poonawalla has been a critic of the Ethanol policy and has been demanding the rollback of E20 mandatory fuel purchase. He has been vocal in his opinion that many consumers in the country are facing problems in the engine due to E20 petrol.

“I am requesting you with folded hands that I will not do anything except protest or you can arrest me” Poonawalla could be seen in one of the videos he posted on X.

Poonawalla also claimed that the police officials have placed jammers near his residence.
