Shekhar Suman has strongly condemned the actions of the police and government for the way they have handled the protests done by CJP. The host opined that he was appalled that the police used Lathis and tear gas on the innocent students.

The actor and host, who is one of the few celebrities to criticize the government sarcastically and known for his sharp commentary, took strong jabs at the Modi-led BJP government in the recent episode of Shekhar Tonite, where Pankaj Tripathi appeared as a guest later.
He cracked jokes on multiple incidents like Ram Mandir Donation Theft, the ethanol policy (Nitin Gadkari), and potholes on the road.
