It seems that Sania Mirza has also dived into content creation with her Youtube channel “Serving it Up with Sania”. She recently released her first podcast like conversation with none other than her good friend Farah Khan and the two talked on many interesting aspects of their lives including fate and destiny.

In a conversation with Farah Khan, Sania Mirza recounts the good luck when she and her family narrowly escaped a plane crash by not boarding it at Los Angeles. At the last minute, Sania’s aunt told them to take the next flight instead as she was unable to come and pick them up from Los Angeles. The family changed their plan and scheduled flight on the day after.

However, their flight they were originally supposed to board, tragically crashed with no survivors.

Sania Mirza: We couldn’t afford it. So we had to come back to India and then start playing. That was one of the reasons why we came. So when we were taking the flight, my aunt called last minute and said, ‘Listen, don’t take tomorrow morning. I can’t come to L.A. to pick you up tomorrow. So you take the next morning.’ We said, ‘Okay.’

Sania Mirza: So the next morning, that flight crashed.

Farah Khan:‘What?’

Sania Mirza: Yeah, that flight crashed.

Farah Khan: Oh, my God, it’s a true story.Like these urban legends.

Sania Mirza: Yeah, there were no survivors. Because I believe in destiny,”

Sania also shared that the reason her family decided to return from Los Angeles when she was around 5 years old was financial constraints as they simply couldn’t afford her coaching in LA.

Discussing destiny, Farah opined that she was desperate to get married at 23 years of age but believes that she wouldn’t have been the person that she became if she had gotten married young. Farah even aruges that could have got divorced if she had gotten married at young.

Farah Khan: Like you, at 23, I wanted to also get married… very desperately. And if that had happened, then I would not be the person I am today. I would be married and probably divorced and not having a career.

Sania Mirza: No, no, you would not have been divorced.

Farah Khan: 100%

Farah Khan: And also how I got my first break as a choreographer. Now see, somebody didn’t turn up for the shoot. And I was the only person there who knew dance and how to choreograph. So I was made the choreographer of a very big Aamir Khan movie — Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. So that is all destiny, you know.”

The two ladies discussed on several topics including Sania’s journey after her divorce and how motherhood has been difficult for her as she is now a single parent.
