Salman and Govinda are amongst the biggest superstars that this country has seen. Fans were elated when both of them worked together in the Partner movie and are wishing for the sequel also.

During the filming of the movie Partner in 2007, there were many rumors about the friction between Salman Khan and Govinda. At that time, Govinda was going through a rough patch while Salman’s stardom was on another level.

However, despite Govinda’s rough patch and failing stardom, Salman Khan was extremely respectful towards him on the sets of Partner. This was opined by Deepshika Nagpal in a recent interview who worked alongside both the superstars in the same movie.

“One is always on the alert to match up with him. But Salman is also Salman. Their bonding was really good and I have seen with my own eyes the way Salman Khan has treated Govinda — never once did he make Govinda feel that his time was running out or that he was no longer getting work.

The big one is the one who protects the small. He doesn’t make you feel small — that was Salman Khan’s greatness. He never gave anyone even a shred of disrespect. He respected Govinda, whether in treatment or in scenes. I’ve seen Govinda telling Salman, “Hey, don’t do it like this, do it like this,” and Salman would listen — literally listen — and do it that way. There was never any rudeness; it’s his culture. I’m an eyewitness — it was so beautiful working with that camp, but I guess wisdom comes to me late. Now that I have it, I cherish it.”

Partner was a huge hit and allowed Govinda to make a comeback. There were rumors that the sequel Partner 2 would also go on floors however, David Dhawan in 2024 interview stated that he thought about making sequel of Partner but didn’t went with the plan. Surprisingly, David Dhawan has never made sequel for most of his hit films.
