Prominent enterpreneur Sabeer Bhatia has slammed the BJP officials for trying to manipulate the AQI sensors by sprinkling mist water near them. Bhatia in his instagram reel showed a recent viral video showing trucks in Delhi being made to sprinkle water so that AQI data can be manipulated.
Bhatia’s remarks comes at a time of growing outrage over alleged attempts to manipulate air quality readings in the capital after Diwali. The entrepreneur, known for his outspoken criticism of government inefficiency, linked the “AQI manipulation trick” to larger concerns about transparency in India’s data reporting, including recent GDP growth claims.

He further add that if the government is trying to manipulate the AQI data, then how can they be trusted for claiming the increased GDP numbers which they have been claiming for some time.
Indian ministers have been praising the economy since months for becoming the fourth largest ecomony surpassing that of Japan however critics believe that rejoicing in surpassing Japan’s economy is of no use as the country lacks severely in per capita income which is the real reflection of economic progress.

News related to a sharp rise in AQI well above 1000 during Diwali time went viral. Many critics opined that lack of restrained shown by the government allowed people to burst more crackers than they would have otherwise.
Bhatia is one of the high net worth individuals who has openly criticized Indian beauracracy over the years citing his own experience also where his scholarship almost never came to frutition. He also alleged in the past that corruption from the government in around 2008 did not allowed his messaging venture to flourish which he belived would have become the equivalent of Whatsapp that we know of today.
