In her recent interview with Aap Ki Adalat, Mary Kom shared an interesting incident when she punched the driver who rammed into her car from behind.
Mary did not had a driver’s license at that time but decided to drive in Delhi. The legendary boxer told Rajat Sharma that she had stopped the car at a red signal while driving (for the first time) in Delhi which is when another car banged into her from behind.
Upon getting hit, Mary realized that she was following proper rules at a signal and that she had not made any mistake. However, the other party not only confronted Mary Kom but also tried to put the blame on her by using aggressive gestures.
“He kept saying it was my fault, even though he was the one who hit her from behind.”
— Mary during her interview on Aap Ki Adalat
Mary opines that the man not only kept on putting blame on her but also was talking rudely by pointing fingers at her. Then when the green signal appeared, the man tried to flew away but couldn’t as there was lot of crowd.
The man then again began arguing with Mary Kom and blaming her solely for the accident. Feeling irritated by the man’s aggressive accusations with finger gestures, Mary landed a punch on his face. The nail scratched the man’s face causing minor bleeding. According to Mary, the man was acting as if he had gotten badly hurt and was going to die.
“You are very lucky” : Police to the guy who got only one punch from Mary Kom
When the fight became to spiral more, security guards were called in and both parties went to the police station. The police officers identified that she is Mary Kom and told the man he was very lucky to get away with just one punch or else he would have been badly wounded by the legendary boxer. Mary then opines that the man eventually admitted his mistake.
