In a recent conversation with Farah Khan, Ranveer Allahabadia recalls the emotional phase when he received support from several members of the Indian cricket team, including Hardik Pandya.
Nearly two years ago, Ranveer found himself in probably the biggest controversy of his career when he asked a vulgar sort of question on Samay Raina’s Latent Show.
The question, although harmless, went viral due to its adult nature, and createdfurore.
While giving the house tour to Farah Khan for her vlog, Ranveer recalled the emotional support from John Abraham, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, and KL Rahul when he was embroiled in the latent controversy.
Ranveer: “He (John Abraham) had called especially. Handle yourself. These things are normal and happens in the media. Sonu Nigam, Hardik Pandya, K L Rahul and Yuzi Chahal. These five people called me up.”
Farah: “Hardik and all also went through the same s**t.”
Ranveer Latent Controversy
Ranveer had asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or join in once and stop it forever?” Although the question seemed harmless, many people found it obscene and offensive to the culture of this country. The YouTuber expressed an apology later. Complaints were filed in multiple cities, and the court even restrained Ranveer from making further podcasts for the time being.
Elaborating more on that difficult time, Ranveer said “I tolerated a lot. A lot happened. But I just prayed to God to return my work somehow. I just want an opportunity to work because we were not allowed to shoot also.”

For the people who don’t know, back in 2019, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were lambasted by the netizens for their comments made on Koffee With Karan related to women. The matter went viral to the extent that both cricketers were suspended on an interim and the captain, Virat Kohli, stated that the controversial opinions were not of the Indian team.
