In an podcast with Raj Shamani, Bobby Deol talked on many phases of his life including the time when he wasn’t getting any work and that alcohol was his biggest support system during that bad time. Bobby also talked about his wife Tanya and opined that he would have always supported his wife to work even if it meant going against the family’s traditional culture.

“I always believed that whoever I marry, if she wants to work, I would never stop her — because it’s simply unfair.”

While Bobby had a heart to heart discussion on many aspects of his life, the most eye-catching revolved around his son when he questioned why his dad is always at home while his mom goes to work every day?

And then one day I’m singing I just want to be home and my wife works and you know my son Sunny tells my wife in front of me. Obviously then the purpose they saying you know mom you her, you go to work during the day, but dad always stays at home and that just changed. Everything for me I just could handle that, what I felt about myself. What am I doing, what kind of a father, what kind of example am I setting up for my kids, how do they grow up, how will they be? They will feel the fire that they have to do something in life if I am the one giving up. I can’t do that to my children and I didn’t ask them to have us. I told them I gave them life. I brought them to this earth. So it’s my responsibility to be a good example for them. I should. And that’s when I changed. I started working out. I started preparing myself. I started doing acting classes. I did a few here and there. I tried to be ready. So that if anyone came knocking at my door, I would do something.
