On 23th October, an embarassing moment happened for the country as two Australian women cricketers were inappropriately touched by a man in Indore. He is identified as Aqueel Khan. The incident happened when the two cricketers were going in the direction of a cafe.
The incident has been acknowledged by Cricket Australia and they have said that
“CA can confirm two members of the Australian Women’s team were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore,” Cricket Australia said in a statement. “The matter was reported by team security to police, who are handling the matter.”
The criminal was not only arrested but a video footage which is trending on social media shows that the accused has been beaten severely by the police with his hands and legs fractured.
Fake Or Real, Netizens React whether Accused is Really Beaten or Doing Acting?
The video shows the police dragging the accused towards the camera person while the accused jumps and limps while walking indicating that he has been severly beaten in custody. However, netizens quipped that its all a drama done by the accused on the instructions of police.
Many redditors opined that the accused was merely acting and one opined that this urgency by the police authorities was shown only because it happened to a player who is taking part in an event which is in spotlight these days.
If the footage is real, it seems baffling as to why the authorities have assaulted. We are not saying that the accused did a petty crime. He deserves strict punishment. But strignent laws and strict punishment over the years would have enabled an environment where no man would have dared to do such crime.
The majority of comments on Instagram also reflected the same sentiment that netizens are questioning the authenticity of accused beating and whether its all fake.
