Spiritual leader Acharya Prashant has strongly criticized the Indian celebration of bursting crackers which causes increment in AQI. While bursting crackers do contribute towards AQI increase, they are one of the miniscule reason while stubble burning remains the major cause of high AQI especially during October-November.

Cities like Delhi NCR is facing massive AQI since the last few days and in fact, AQI of most Indian cities are in the “hazardous” zone as noted by a prominent website.

In his latest video, Acharya Prashant reasons that Indian people are far from spiritual and that they believe in capitalist mindset. The spiritual leader, known for his unfiltered opinion reasons that people in this country are not only self-centered but extremely inclined towards materialistic pleasure.

Acharya Prashant Explains why India lacks pro-active awareness to take AQI Problem seriously

A girl present in the seminar asked Acharya Prashant as to why India has lack of awareness about the AQI problem and its effect on health to which the spirutual leader replied. According to him, AQI problem is not causing instant deaths which is why it is not the top concern for many politicians and administrators.

Talking about the repurcussion of high AQI problem, Acharya Prashant opines that someone living in Delhi NCR would have his lifespan reduced by 10 – 15 years because of Air Pollution problem.

Prashant, who often criticizes many aspects of Indian culture opines that most people have not been emphasized enough on some of the basic things in life like clean air and clean water, good health, and the ability to read books. In fact, they equate consumption of materialistic things with happiness like in the case of bursting crackers.
