Veteran actor Annu Kapoor often trends on social media for his bold statements, whether its related to atheism or related to the controversy of kiss declined by Priyanka Chopra for a movie shot. Now he has again given a bold opinion and its related to Tamannaah Bhatia.

During a podcast conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Annu Kapoor was asked about his opinion on Tamannaah Bhatia where she opined that her song “Aaj Ki Raat” helps children to go to sleep.

Taking a subtle dig at her, Annu Kapoor sarcastically praised the actress for her beautiful white skin and also questioned the age bracket which falls asleep to the song (referring to Aaj Ki Raat) by Tamannaah Bhatia.

Annu Kapoor: “Oh wow, mashallah, what a fair body. Wow, really!”

Shubhankar Mishra: “She said that nowadays little children fall asleep after listening to their song. In an interview, she said that she is happy seeing that mothers sing this song to their children, and after listening to it, the children go to sleep.”

Annu Kapoor: “Very good, very nice.”

Shubhankar Mishra: “When asked which song, they said ‘enjoy it with your eyes tonight.’”

Annu Kapoor: “Wow, wow! So, how old are the children who fall asleep?”

Shubhankar Mishra: “She didn’t gave a definition.”

Annu Kapoor: “But I would have asked her exactly what age falls asleep. A 70-year-old child could also fall asleep. Look, listen to one thing. In English, they say, ‘I am 70 years old.’ I am a 70-year-old child, and that another man 11-year-old is just 11 years old. So who falls asleep?”

Annu Kapoor: “It’s a good thing that Tamanna Bhatia is helping children sleep with her song, with her milky body or with her fair face. If she is helping our children get sweet sleep, then that’s really good. I feel this is a great blessing for our country. May our children sleep peacefully and healthily. That’s a very good thing.”

Annu Kapoor: “And if she has any desires, may God give her the strength and blessings to fulfill them. That is my blessing for her.” — Annu Kapoor in conversation with Shubhankar Mishra

During the interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Annu Kapoor also talked about the time when he interviewed Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Goa and also described as a not so pleasant experience.

Accoding to Kapoor, Nawazuddin made comments about women which didn’t feel right to the veteran actor.

Annu Kapoor opines that he was trying to answers and conversation out of Nazawazuddin but the actor didn’t replied much. Annu, then thought to change to topic to a lighter note.

When Annu Kappor quizzed Nawazuddin about his love life, the actor replied that “Many have come and gone”. The reply and the tone didn’t sat well with Annu Kapoor.

Annu Kapoor: “In Goa, it was all set up. Nawazuddin Siddiqui — actually, some club people had told me, ‘You should take Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s interview.’ So I asked around and did some research before going — he had done an MSc in Chemistry. So, I got very impressed. I have a scientific bent of mind, and I have a lot of respect for such people. I thought — wow, you’ve done MSc, while I could only pass till 10th grade.”

Annu Kapoor: “But no matter how much I tried to ask him questions, he just wouldn’t open up. So I thought maybe I should take it in a lighter mood. I asked, ‘Okay, have you had any love affairs in your life?’ And the way he said it — ‘Yes, many came and many went.’ That made me feel he’s a very frivolous kind of person. ‘Many came and many went’ — what do you mean by that, man? What do you mean by that? That’s such a cheap kind of comment…”

Annu Kapoor: “Does that mean you’ve taken the contract to speak the truth on a public platform? Have you taken the contract to speak the truth?”

Shubhankar Mishra: “It seems like the conversation between the two of you didn’t go very well.”

Annu Kapoor: “He didn’t really have much to say in response to my questions, so I had to speak. The people who had booked him said, ‘Sir, you were the one speaking.’ I said, ‘Who have you brought and made sit in front of me?’ Frankly speaking, this was in Goa, and Sachin Tailang was with me at the time. I said, ‘Sachin, who have you brought here to sit in front of me?’”

Annu Kapoor: “And whenever any man makes such comments about a woman, I find it very cheap. I don’t like it. There are some places where you don’t need to tell the truth — for the sake of respecting a woman. To maintain the dignity and respect of a woman, it’s not necessary to use such words.”

Annu Kapoor: “You should know how to say things — it’s all in your way of speaking. If you say something in English, even a mother’s curse sounds soft. But in Hindi — you’re children of Uttar Pradesh — if you use ‘mother-sister’ abuses, they sting hard. So, there should be a way of speaking, right? There should be a way. Respect — respect for women — no matter who you are talking about, you should maintain respect. You’re sitting on a big public platform. It doesn’t matter to me personally.” — Annu Kapoor in conversation with Shubhankar Mishra
