Recently, Sumona Chakravarti revealed that she underwent surgery for endometriosis, which she has been managing for a long time. The actress famous for her role in Kapil Sharma’s laughter program had been away from the limelight for the past few months, and now we understand why that is so.

Sumona Chakravarty revealed that she wanted to quit social media but realized that it wasn’t the practical move. She opined that she was never after likes, comments, or followers through her social media and wants to build a community for women where they can talk about issues especially for women.

After the announcement made by Sumona, many celebrities, including Archana Puran Singh, wished good health to the actress. Other names include Arjun Bijalani, Karan V Grover, and Arti Singh.

It’s almost similar to a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) grows outside the uterus. Normally, these growths usually happen on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, the outer surface of the uterus, the pelvic lining, and sometimes the bowel or bladder.

But unlike the normal uterine lining, this kind of tissue has no way to leave the body, and it can become inflamed, bleed, and even lead to scar tissue.

Symptoms often include painful menstrual cramps, pain during intercourse, pain during bowel movements, difficulty becoming pregnant, and fatigue.

Can it be life-threatening? Usually, no. But immediate medical attention may be needed in case of sudden, severe pelvic or abdominal pain or when there is heavy vaginal bleeding.

Usually, Ibuprofen and Naproxen can provide help with the pain, but the last resort is often surgery, which the actress Sumona Chakravarti has undergone recently.

Scars are usually the by-product of the surgery, and the actress also shared that she got three of them after the surgery and that it bothers her despite knowing that they will fade away with time.
