In a video posted on X, Sonam Wangchuk has strongly rejected the claims made in the tweet posted by the governor yesterday, where it was indicated that Wangchuk was strictly advised to not talk about the Cockroach Janta Party.

In a long reel posted, Wangchuk claimed that he and his wife were invited by the governor, where they talked positively about collaboration, but when they saw the tweet of the governor, they felt that the trust had been broken.

“I cautioned Shri Wangchuk to abjure from weaving a misleading and provocative narrative, which vitiates public discourse,” the Lieutenant Governor had said after meeting with Wangchuk and his wife.

I was laughing internally at Him: Sonam Wangchuk

Wangchuk stated there was talk about the Cockroach Janta Party and that the governor opined that any statement/support to a party like CJP from Wangchuk is worrisome as it gets attention. As per Sonam, he was advised by the governor to not give support to CJP.

Wangchuk replied that he considers his support to CJP as a freedom of creative expression and that the central party should understand the pain points of the youth.

Wangchuk opined that he was told by the Governor Saxena that almost all the followers of the Cockroach Janta Party are from outside India. The environmentalist said that he was laughing internally at such a wild claim of the governor and also opined that it was very recent that he faced such baseless accusations when the Union government alleged that Wangchuk’s protest was getting funded from outside India.
