A video is circulating on social media where stand-up comedian Nasif Akhtar appears to be heckled by someone in the audience to utter “Jai Shree Ram”. Nasif then gave a reply which went viral.
Forced To Say “Jai Shree Ram”
In the video, when Nasif was interrupted, “Now Say Jai Shree Ram”, the comedian maintained a calm demeanour and obliged to the request, followed by a chant of not only “Jai Shree Ram” but also of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
But Nasif didn’t stop after that. He then requested the same person to utter “AllahuAkbar”. The audience went berserk and started laughing.
For the people who are not aware, Muslims often hesitate to chant “Jai Shree Ram”, Vande Mataram, and Bharat Mata Ki Jai due to religious reasons. Also, these phrases are known as symbolic connotation with the Hindu religion, whereas “Allahuakbar” is recited by Muslims as part of their faith practice, rather than by people of other religions.
Handled It Well?
The clip has gone viral on social media, and users are applauding the comedian for handling the situation diligently, which otherwise could have worsened the situation.
Surprisingly, Nasif shared only 17 seconds of a viral moment in the reel posted on his Instagram. Audience are waiting for the full moment. The clip has garnered nearly 30 million views till now. It is interesting to note that Nasif has previously chanted the slogan at the request of a guest during one of his live shows.
