Nearly a week ago, Mohammad Amir made a scathing remark against Abhishek Sharma before the marqee clash that Abhishek was nothing but a ‘Slogger’. Amir made those statements on the program “Hasna Mana Hai”. The remark of slogger came from Amir as Abhishek Sharma has gotten out on a duck in the opening game against USA.
The statement went viral and Amir was criticised by the fans for his statement.
Now even the Pakistani ex-cricketer Basit Ali has given a sharp jibe at Mohammad Amir by comparing Abhishek Sharma with the likes of Saeed Anwar.
Basit Ali also opined that if Abhishek Sharma is a slogger, then they wish such sloggers also come in the Pakistan team some day.
“If someone like Abhishek Sharma is a slogger then I think and I am quoting Rashid Latif’s words, that we hope Pakistan Team also gets such sloggers like Abhishek Sharma. Pakistan would be very happy if someone like Abhishek Sharma, who Amir thinks is a slogger, comes into Pakistan team.

Basit Ali, who is now a well-known cricket expert in Pakistan, then made the opinion that Saeed Anwar also used to play in the manner like Abhishek Sharma is playing.
“Was Saeed Anwar a slogger? I know nobody would say this but Saeed Anwar also used to play like Abhishek Sharma. He (Sharma) hits more sixes. The bat quality was different at that time. That’s the only difference.”

Sharp Jibe At Shadab Khan
Basit Ali also took a moment to opinion on the comments made by Shadab Khan who stated that the earlier Pakistan Team did not beat India in any WC match unlike them who did in 2021. Shadab made those statements in response to wave of criticism that former Pak cricketers made for them after India decimated Pakistan on 15th Feb.
Shadab Khan had taken a jibe at Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousuf by saying
“Our ex-cricketers have their own opinions. They have done well for Pakistan, and at the end of the day, they have also never defeated India in the World Cup. We were the ones who defeated India in the 2021 World Cup. In World Cups, we have beaten India only once. Yes, they are legends, but they have never done anything remarkable against India in the World Cup,” Shadab had told the reporters after their win against Namibia in the T20 World Cup”
Basit Ali replied strongly to Shadab Khan by saying that “Your father in law was also there in the Pak Team when they were unable to beat India in WC matches…………………Now you have reached Super 8, your performance should be as good as it was against Namibia or USA. Give performance against India first. As far your opinion is concerned about the Pak Team of 90s, T20 didn’t used to happen that time. If T20 was there at that time, many better players than you would have been there.”
