Ashish Chanchlani revealed that although Ekaki, his web series venture has accumulated lots of views on Youtube, it has failed to provide anything substantial profit in comparison to the money he has invested in the web series.

The Youtuber revealed that his father called it the worst thing he has done as business because he had put the entire web series for free on Youtube which had a high production budget.

Chanchlani’s father is Anil Chanchlani who is the owner of a Ashok Multiplex in Ulhas Nagar, Maharasthra.

Wanted to give it to the Audience” : Chanchlani on why he released Ekaki For Free

When Raj Shamani asked why Chanchlani released it for free instead of giving it to the OTT, the Youtuber opined that he wanted to release it on his channel at all costs.

Chanchlani says the first four chapters of Ekaki were created keeping the audience in mind, while the final chapter was a deeply personal project made for himself.

Chanchlani reveals that although he may have suffered significant loss by releasing Ekaki for free, the significant viewership of Ekaki is paving him to receive offers of 7-8 times higher offer from studios related to direction and story telling.

It was in 2023 that Chanchlani took a break from his professional life. The Youtuber came back in Dec 2025 on Youtube with his web series.

Ashish has been in news these days because of his viral boat reel in Italy where he could be seen making remarks like “Tharki Buddhe” towards the boat rider as he was engrossed talking to the girl sitting next to him. After receiving lots of backlash, Chanchlani deleted the video
