Bijay Nair grew up in humble background of slums in Mumbai. His father came from Kerala to Bombay in 1970 and worked as a taxi driver before becoming a union leader. Her mother got married at the age of 14. Bijay is the eldest of three brothers and the name of his two brothers are Sanjay Nair and Ajay Nair.
