For several days, an interesting keyword has been occupying Google searches, which is “19 mins Viral Video”. Initially, we couldn’t understand the meaning of the keyword, but upon digging deep, we found that the search is related to an MMS video that is apparently doing the rounds on the Internet and has gained eyeballs.
Why “19 Mins Viral Video” is trending on Google?
A few days ago, a private intimate video of a young boy and a girl got leaked, which gained lots of eyeballs. The video has become viral for the wrong reasons. From the website where the video was posted, one could see disturbing comments where people are calling the guy lucky for being involved with a fair looking girl. Many comments can be seen requesting for more videos of the couple.
It is not clear whether the video was deliberately leaked or stolen. Both the boy and the girl appear to be extremely young.
Notorious Website Identified and needs to be shut down
In our investigation, we found a notorious website that leaked the MMS Video. In order to prevent internet searches from gaining access to the video link, we are deliberately not disclosing the name of the website where the video appeared for the first time. During our research, we found that the said website often leaks videos of Indian couples on an exclusive basis. Although the website appears to be banned in India, the use of VPNs and proxies makes it easily accessible.
While there are many websites that appear to be sharing such type of illegal content, we wanted to find out in our research about the original website where this kind of video often gets posted and from where it gets spread to other websites, and we found that exactly.
If any authorities want to know about the said website, they can reach out to us to help take it down for good. Through the archive pages, we found that the website keeps changing its domain extension in order to bypass the ban on it from India.
When sharing porn videos is punishable under Indian law
- Under the IPC (Obscenity / Obscene content)
Section 292 IPC prohibits the sale, distribution, publication or public exhibition of obscene material. Distributing pornographic videos to others can fall under this.
Section 293 IPC bans selling/distributing obscene material among minors (i.e. to persons under age 20).
Section 294 IPC makes it an offence to perform an obscene act or sing/show obscene songs, in a public place. So sharing or publicly exhibiting porn content where it can be seen by others may be punishable.
- Under the IT Act, 2000 (Electronic / digital distribution)
Because much pornography is shared online or digitally, the IT Act plays a big role:
Section 67 IT Act prohibits publishing or transmitting “obscene or sexually explicit” content in electronic form (websites, apps, social media, etc.). Anyone uploading/sharing porn videos online can be prosecuted under this.
Section 67A IT Act penalises material containing “sexually explicit acts or conduct” especially when shared or transmitted.
Section 67B IT Act specifically prohibits production, distribution, transmission, or possession of child pornography. Sharing videos involving minors is a very serious offence.
Conclusion
We would like to remind our viewers that watching C***d P**n is strictly illegal in India, and also in many countries. From the images and clips circulating on social media, it appears that both parties are under 18 years of age and appear to be talking in Hindi. There also has been many fake rumors being spread on the Internet that the girl in the video has committed suicide after getting identified in real life. Many reputed publishers have opined that the girl has not been identified and that fake images are being spread online of the girl and the boy.
