The Indian Team is enjoying its dominance after a successful outing at the Asia Cup 2025 and beating WI in the 1st home test match. This Asia Cup will always be remembered for the tensions between the India and Pak team especially for the provocative gestures which Pak players like Haris Rauf did with his jetdown hand gesture.

Haris Rauf received a tit for tat gesture from Jasprit Bumrah after he was cleaned up by Bumrah’s yorker. In a rarer instance of showing emotions, Bumrah gave a befitting send-off to Rauf with the same jet-down gesture. The moment resonated with the Indian fans who wanted some sort of retailiation. It was a rarer gesture from someone like Jasprit Bumrah who usually doesn’t indulge in banter verbally or non-verbally.

Even SuryaKumar Yadav agreed that he was taken by surprise when Bumrah gave the send off to Haris Rauf.

Interviewer: You played your first game on 14th September. What was your approach that day?

Jasprit Bumrah: On that day, we just took a normal stand for the country. From that match till the final, if you look, none of our players took any action on the field. Even I did something, but that was not in the final.

Interviewer: So in the final, did any player take any action?

Jasprit Bumrah: Yes, in the final, it might seem a little one-sided, but it was okay. When I did it, even I was quite shocked because I’m usually very relaxed and cool-minded on the ground. Seeing Arshdeep, you understand his character, but when I did it, we also thought, “What’s happening? Is the team taking such a decision after a discussion?”

Interviewer: Was it planned or instant?

Jasprit Bumrah: No, it was absolutely an instant decision. As far as I feel, until the final, in those three games, no player took any action. Nothing. Our main motive was simply to play good cricket and win the tournament.

Interviewer: You mentioned in a statement, “Don’t call it rivalry.” What do you mean by that?

Jasprit Bumrah: There is rivalry, yes, you have to accept that. Only you can explain what it is. I’ll tell you how. The Pakistani players and journalists there even provide figures. They say, “Okay, you won 11 in the World Cup and we didn’t win even one. Look overall, in T20s and ODIs, check your record. Pakistan has won more.”

Interviewer: Did you check those records yourself?

Jasprit Bumrah: But in front of me, I never see the record. It’s in the books. Since I’ve been here and playing, I haven’t seen it.

India Captain SuryaKumar in an interview with SportsTak revealed that Pakistani players crossed the line on many occasions. The Indian Team is on a high after winning Asia Cup T20 Format against Pakistan. While it was a close game, the cricketing pundits from both nations agreed that India outplayed Pakistan in all the three matches of Asia Cup 2025.

Such was the banter and rivalry in the game that the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, who usually do not get involve in any heated exchange also gave a befitting reply to Haris Rauf by mimicking his plane crashing gesture when he bowled him with almost a searing yorker.

Interviewer: During the game, the Pakistani players made gestures. Did that affect your team?

Suryakumar Yadav: I saw how in the game, everything keeps going up and down. Aggression also comes from the bowlers, from the fielders, everyone wants as much as they want in the game. But what is there, in those things, you should never cross the line.

Interviewer: Were there many incidents on the field?

Suryakumar Yadav: Now, how many things the players told me, which happened in all three matches, I cannot share like that, but a lot happened on the ground that players were telling the coaching staff to me.

Interviewer: What did you tell the players after those games?

Suryakumar Yadav: But I told them only one thing after the first game and also after the second game that if we focus well on cricket, the occasion is good. If we win here too, then nothing bigger than this can be an answer for anyone.

After the match got over, the drama happened as the Pakistan team stayed inside their dressing room for nearly an hour, making everyone wait at the presentation including Mohsin Naqvi and other dignitaries. Finally, the presentation ceremony happened but the Indian team didn’t collect the Asia Cup Trophy. It is reported that ACC and Pakistan chairman Mohsin Naqvi took the trophy away from the presentation ceremony as he was adamant that the trophy won’t be handed over to the Indian team by anyone except him.
