A video is circulating on Reddit in which a young girl by the name of Prabhjot Kaur claims that nothing wrong has happened to her at LPU University.

The girl claims that the rumors being spread about her are totally false and that she is safe with her family members. She also alleged that nothing wrong happened to her inside the University.

She has requested the netizens not to spread the false rumors. She admits that she panicked when the protests happened, which is why she is speaking up now.

What were the rumors?

There are allegations that a female student was raped by a worker inside the girls’ hostel, after which the clashes broke out. Other posts claim that political groups opposed to Punjab’s ruling AAP party encouraged the protests to undermine its popularity.

These claims have not been independently verified. The student identified in the circulating video says she is safe with her family and that nothing happened to her at the university.

The students allege that the college administration is even luring a few students with a 10 CGPA if they do not reveal the truth to the media.
