The police has finally arrested the woman in question who assaulted the maid in his Gurugram Flat in DLF Camellias. The development comes after the reports that the maid has given a statement for not wanting to proceed with the matter. The news was shared by lawyer and activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj.

A disturbing video surfaced yesterday where a woman named Ruchika Sachdeva, a 52 year old, could be seen assaulting his maid inside the house. The video was recorded by a third person and the details came into limelight that the flat is from Gurugram.

The case has sparked serious debate over the treatment of domestic workers and questions whether workers feel safety in pursuing legal case against their owners, especially if the owner is rich and has powerful connections?

Lawyer Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, reposted the video on her Twitter handle and had then tagged the Gurgaon police to take immediate action. The police acknowledged the incident by replying on the tweet and asked for more details in the DM.

Lawyer Claims Maid Was Forced To Leave Overnight

Deepika also shared that the owner of the house apparrently runs a liquor business and told the police that his wife got a little bit angry and raised her hand on the maid.

The lawyer, who is known for fighting for men in false dowry cases, also revealed that the maid was made to fled overnight from the house and had recorded a statement on paper that she does not want any action.

Case Update: Lawyer Claims that the Women Has been Arrested Now

After a few hours, Deepika shared an update where she claims that the woman in question who arrested the maid has now been arrested by the Gurgaon police and that the police officials are keen on taking more actions so that the maid gets justice.

But a report by a prominent media house claims that the woman in question has now been released on bail. We have not verified this development yet.
